A little late, but I hope you had a very merry Christmas! Mine was absolutely wonderful ... we were able to spend time with both our families, I received some delightful gifts and even managed to take a day off!

Broad & High
This article was in the Columbus Dispatch today...
Several news tickers and video screens have surfaced on Capitol Square, and like fireworks on the Fourth of July, they have captured the attention of pedestrians and drivers alike.
Get ready for an explosion.
The developers of the Broad & High project in the heart of Downtown today plan to unveil today an elaborate text-and-video montage they hope will take multimedia marketing to a new level.
Casto formed a venture with Orange Barrel Media to create the complex sign display, which has attracted seven of the eight major sponsors the venture was seeking.
Excitement is a big part of the Broad & High display, said Orange Barrel founder Pete Scantland. From the bottom up, it will include the two tickers, a ribbon-shaped video screen for nonprofit messages, and then the video screens used by the corporate sponsors.
Nationwide, one of seven major sponsors that the Casto-Orange Barrel venture has signed, will use the Broad & High display to carry out its "Life Comes at You Fast" campaign. For example, one sequence will show a woman using a hair dryer. Eventually, the air from the dryer causes a car to crash on one of the other screens.
"The concept is original to Columbus. It's innovative, something that will be long-lasting and symbolic for the future of the city."

The opening celebration is tonight ... I'm so excited that it's done and so unbelievably proud of Pete :)

Next Stop on the City Tour: Jinny!
Jinny is an AMAZING boutique in the Short North. It carries lines such as 3.1 Phillip Lim, Rachel Roy, Autumn Cashmere, Mike & Chris, Vince, Jill Stuart, Rachel Pally, Habitual, Loeffler Randall, Hanii Y, Foley & Corinna, Nili Lotan, and MORE! I can hardly afford this shop, but every now and again I splurge on something pretty for myself.
This week Jinny launched an e-commerce store and now all of her amazing merchandise is available on the web. Click here to shop.

Rebecca Minkoff
I want a new bag for Christmas, but I can't decide which one it is that I want! I looked all around New York and am still undecided. So I consulted my fashion guru (Beth) who told me of Rebecca Minkoff bags, and she is right, they are yummy! Here are my favorites:

i heart kate spade.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Kate Spade. I don't necessarily love her purses anymore (I had a whole collection of the nylon bags in high school) but i do love her accessories, shoes, paper and especially her web design and advertisements. It's all so whimsical and lovely...I would pack up in a second if I could work for her!

A Party Perfect Dress.
I really like this dress, even though it reminds me a lot of my sisters dance costume from the Jazz class she took when she was 5 (she danced to the song "She Works Hard for the Money"). I think it would be the perfect New Years Eve party dress! Available here

Tory Burch.
After spending the weekend in NYC and seeing tons of women in Tory Burch flats, I can't decide if I love them or hate them!? Thoughts??

Cupcake Bakery comes to German Village!
At Bakery Gingham they specialize in creating cupcakes, wedding cakes and other special event cakes with an artistic flair. Their nostalgic and often whimsical styles break tradition to bring "old-school" flavors and unique interpretations to these delicious works of art.
I read about this on Columbus Underground today and nearly jumped up and down with excitement! I'm not exactly sure where it's located in German Village, but it's supposed to be opening before Christmas. You can be certain I will be there as soon as it opens to try it out!

I need a new bag...
I carry around A LOT of stuff. My computer, 2 cell phones, my planner, wallet, keys, gum, chap-stick, anti-bacterial gel and usually an apple in case I get hungry. Therefore as you can imagine, my bag is pretty hefty, and after almost 2 years of carrying the same on everyday I think I'm ready for a new one! Here are my first thoughts from anthropologie.

I'm thankful for...
1. My family -- who despite our madness is the most wonderful, amazing group of people I've ever known, and I feel so lucky to have you.
2. My job -- Even with the hellish hours it sometimes requires, I'm thankful that I love what I do and absolutely adore the people I work with.
3. My dog -- Because you bring joy to my life, keep my active and snuggle me at night when Pete's out of town!
4. My friends -- who have stood by me and supported me through so much... and continue to make my life way more enjoyable!
5. Last, and maybe most of all, Pete -- who is my best friend in the whole world, who I also happen to be madly in love with. I am so thankful that you are in my life.
What are you thankful for on this day?

Buy Nothing Day = November 23rd
A 24 hour moratorium on consumer spending - participate by not participating. This November 23rd, environmentalists, social activists and concerned citizens in as many as 65 countries will hit the streets for a 24-hour consumer fast in celebration of the 15th annual Buy Nothing Day, a global cultural phenomenon that originated in Vancouver, Canada. Read more.
This post may seem ironic, since about 75% of what I post on this blog is material things to purchase, however I think this is a wonderful idea. Thanks to my sister, my entire family has vowed to participate this year in the Buy Nothing Day, and you should too!
